Where to Eat

Downtown Eats: Gothic Ice Cream!

We are big fans of all things ice cream, and we are always on the hunt for new twists to our favorite snack. Our current favorite is the hip, gothic themed ice cream shop, Little Damage

Little Damage serves soft serve ice cream that is unlike any other you have tried. Have you ever had black ice cream? Have you ever had a charcoal cone? Didn't think so. But look no further, because here you can try unique rotating flavors like the black colored "Mother of Dragons" (strawberry cheesecake), Unicorn Tears (vanilla birthday cake), Taro Coconut, Major Key Lime and at least one vegan option. Don't be shy to sample flavors and you can even get two different flavors in a cone. To top it off, you get your pick of a topping like sprinkles, diced almonds, fruity pebbles, Oreo crumbs or coconut shavings.

Make sure you check their Instagram to see what flavors are available that day!

Downtown Eats: Smogasburg LA

If you're in Los Angeles on a Sunday, you're in luck! Smogasburg LA is a Sunday food market with foods, drinks, desserts and shopping. Take your pick of a fresh acai bowl, Vietnamese Bahn Mi,  donuts, churros, fried chicken, artisanal ice cream, tacos, tamales and much more! Go hungry and leave happy!

Smogasburg happens every Sunday from 10am-4pm at the Alameda Produce Market in Downtown Los Angeles. Check out what's going on each weekend at the official website.

America's Tallest Open Air Bar

When exploring the downtown area, the newest must is a visit to Spire 73, the new open air bar and lounge on the 73rd floor of the InterContinental Downtown Los Angeles Hotel. You will not find views like this anywhere else, and if you're lucky, you may even catch a helicopter landing on the rooftop of a nearby skyscraper.

The menu offers a nice selection of craft cocktails, but they are a bit pricey. However, the amazing views you will catch make it all worth it. Spire 73 is open from 4pm - 12:30am. Happy viewing!

Healthy Grocery Shopping in Downtown LA

When looking for grocery store with healthy options during your stay in the Downtown Los Angeles area, guests look no further than the newly opened Whole Foods in Downtown Los Angeles. Whole foods provides amazing options for healthy snacks, fruits, drinks and even wonderful warm meals. The high end grocery retailer is a favorite among locals and travelers looking for healthy, organic options.

Street Food Finds: Chopped Fresh Fruit With Chili Powder

Around the Downtown LA and surrounding areas, you will see Latin American fruit carts loaded with watermelon, cantaloupe, mango, jicama, cucumber and other seasonal fruits.  You get to customize your fruit selection and get only the fruits you want.  What makes these fruit carts special is that you can top your fruit with chili powder and/or lime.  We personally always get both because there is something really great about that sweet-meets-sour bite.
