Downtown Eats: Gothic Ice Cream!

We are big fans of all things ice cream, and we are always on the hunt for new twists to our favorite snack. Our current favorite is the hip, gothic themed ice cream shop, Little Damage

Little Damage serves soft serve ice cream that is unlike any other you have tried. Have you ever had black ice cream? Have you ever had a charcoal cone? Didn't think so. But look no further, because here you can try unique rotating flavors like the black colored "Mother of Dragons" (strawberry cheesecake), Unicorn Tears (vanilla birthday cake), Taro Coconut, Major Key Lime and at least one vegan option. Don't be shy to sample flavors and you can even get two different flavors in a cone. To top it off, you get your pick of a topping like sprinkles, diced almonds, fruity pebbles, Oreo crumbs or coconut shavings.

Make sure you check their Instagram to see what flavors are available that day!

America's Tallest Open Air Bar

When exploring the downtown area, the newest must is a visit to Spire 73, the new open air bar and lounge on the 73rd floor of the InterContinental Downtown Los Angeles Hotel. You will not find views like this anywhere else, and if you're lucky, you may even catch a helicopter landing on the rooftop of a nearby skyscraper.

The menu offers a nice selection of craft cocktails, but they are a bit pricey. However, the amazing views you will catch make it all worth it. Spire 73 is open from 4pm - 12:30am. Happy viewing!

Rose Parade: Getting to Pasadena on New Year's Day

Every year, we have guests stay with us who will be attending the Rose Parade in Pasadena. For those international guests unfamiliar with the Rose Parade, it is a popular parade that has been running annually on January 1st for more than 125 years. It travels a 5 1/2 mile stretch of spectators, showcasing floats made out of - you guessed it - ROSES, as well as marching bands, cultural dance performances and more.
